Berlin: As Chancellor Heinrich Bruening’s cabinet
continues to debate solutions to Germany’s financial condition, the number of unemployed
needing public relief grows. New
government reports put the total unemployed at 2.6 million, of which nearly 1.9 million
need government assistance.
Tokyo: Kato Hiroharu,
Chief of Naval Staff and recently appointed member of the Supreme War Council,
makes good on his threat from May, and resigns in protest over the London Naval
Treaty.
