Berlin: In the crisis following the resignation of
Finance Minister Paul Moldenhauer, reports say that some of the political parties
represented in Chancellor Heinrich Bruening’s cabinet want to wait for the results
from the landtag (parliament) elections in the German state of Saxony before
deciding on a new finance minister. They
want to see which direction the winds of public opinion are blowing. Those elections are set for tomorrow.
New York: More signs
of the economic depression -- unemployment in the city is estimated at 300,000.
